The square metre price of land was down some 33% over the year to stand at 352.7 € on average, it’s lowest level for three and a half years.
Also land sales in the towns of the province of Alicante have fallen by 80% in just one year according to the latest data from the Ministry for Housing. Only 29 deals were registered in the province in the last quarter of last year in Alicante, Elche, Benidorm, Torrevieja, Alcoy, Elda and Orihuela.
The continuing climate of economic uncertainty and the greater demands from banks and savings banks at the hour of granting loans means the numbers are set to fall still further.
Land in Málaga is just under two per cent more expensive than a year ago, while nationally prices have fallen by nearly eight per cent.
Across Málaga province in the year to April there was a 1.9% increase in price for the first quarter, year on year. Increases were also seen in the provinces of Sevilla and Cádiz.

Bare land prices in blocks (not plots) should be a good investment anywhere whether if be for building or agriculture in the medium/long term. There is no more being made.

Every time I ever read a forum article concerning land prices….it’s not long before the old cliché – “There is no more being made” makes it’s usual appearance
Irrespetive of whether or not land is a good investment or not…..
THERE IS MORE BEING MADE!!!!!!
Netherlands – about 1/5 land from land reclamation or about 7.000km².
South Korea – As of 2006, 38 percent or 1,550km² of coastal wetlands reclaimed
Hong Kong – Praya Reclamation Scheme began in the late 1860s that consisted of two stage totaling 50 to 60+ acres.[1][5] This figure understates the importance of the sites reclaimed: Hong Kong Disneyland, Hong Kong International Airport, and its predecessor, Kai Tak Airport, were all built on reclaimed land.
And much, much closer to Spain, the entire area west of Line Wall Road in Gibraltar, including Marina Bay, Europort, Watergardens is all built on re-claimed land.
This can be seen cleary on the map below, (the western edge of the black line shows where previously Gibraltar ended and the sea began!)

And jaseywasey you have conveniently forgotten how much land is lost every year through erosion worldwide. I would suggest a lot more that you have listed and that is every year not just one off reclamations.
