Pilar Martínez: Spain’s new Director of Housing

Pilar Martínez (pictured above) is the new Director of Architecture, Housing and Land for the national government in Madrid.

She takes over a tricky post from Beatriz Corredor, the former Secretary of State for Housing under the Socialist Government.

Her office is part of the Ministry of Public Works and she will report to Ana Pastor, the new Minister in charge of that department.

Martínez previously worked as head of housing in Madrid’s municipal government.

Mark, in your photo of Senora Martinez she seems visually rather blessed, I trust her good looks hide a steely determination to make a change for the better. I hope she gets to grips with the main items in your priority list of Dec 23rd blog.

Oh! by the way, what a very interesting view of the property market in Andalucia by Barbara Wood, quite perceptive in my view.
