Ship a few boxes of books to Spain?

      I need to ship 5 boxes of books to Spain, total weight about 90kg. This is not like moving to Spain with furniture, but it’s a bit bigger than a usual courier package, for which I would use normally Fedex or DHL. Anyone got any suggestions for best way to ship this sort of quantity?

      A few years ago a Japanese student staying with me needed to do a similar exercise with boxes of books (about 50kgs worth I think). I remember at the time I checked all means of transporting these boxes back to Japan and the cheapest ended up being……the good ol’ post office!
      As I say, it was quite a few years ago now and alternatives /prices etc. may well have changed, but worth checking out.
      Alternatively, is there no Man-with-a-Van near you who does runs to and fro?

      Thanks. Will look into these options. I found it it would cost around 325 quid to ship with Fedex. Not cheap!

      Like Charlie I used the Post Office for 11 boxes each weighing 30kg (the max at the time) I paid 45GBP per box which included insurance.

      The total came to under 500GBP and a man with a van wanted 750GBP as a part load, no insurance and he and his vehicle looked very dodgy. Needless to say the PO won. There was no damage and at the Spanish end a currier delivered them 2 at a time in a small Seat Van. I got to know him well over a week or two.
