That’s about what we would’ve expected 3 – 4 months, Oliver. We are south of Alicante, north of Torrevieja. We completed 20th April LAST YEAR, 2005 & our agent, who also did our conveyancing, never checked to find out WHY the notary hadn’t said it was ready for collection & we realised we had never been sent it earlier this year. When we contacted our agent they just repeated said the notary hadn’t released it yet without asking WHYEVER NOT ❗ Eventually, because we pushed & pushed them into finding out, it appeared the notary needed 144 euros more to cover extra PLus Valia tax ! THis tax should’ve been paid by our agent as we had an arrangement & actually they DID pay 1200 euros on completion but THIS 144 was extra & so the agent EVENTUALLY went to pay it on 20th June this year. We STILL haven’t had the escritura & ALL agent now will say is “we will courier it to you WHEN we have it & don’t intend commenting further”. However, we have managed to get hold of our notary’s email details & have mailed him in the hope of finding out WHERE the escritura is at the moment. 😡 What a carry on!
It took me about 5 months to get ours back…because the estate agent said the notary would ring us when it came back and they didn’t!
When I finally went to the notaries office, it was there and had been entered into the land registary a few weeks after the purchase.
I’d suggest a visit to the notary..it might be the same case…oh, and we had been over charged so they kindly gave me 80 odd euros back with the escitura! From experience, emails and text messages don’t often get answered!
Good luck!
