My wife and I are considering to buy a 2B holiday apartment max 30 min from Malaga Airport, but on the coast if possible. The budget is 200 €.
Have never had property in Spain and do not know the Málaga province (I’ve been there only once).
Please advise on the villlages or towns in the said area.
Any relevant info will be appreciated.
Previously considered buying near Alicante (eg, in Javea or ALteaa) but seems to be too expensive there.
Having just read all your previous posts, I guess you need help on the area.
You have already received the usual posts by some members of this forum.
I suggest west of Malaga (Benalmadena to Marbella) as the infrastructure is better than to the east.
Further west than Marbella is more than 30 minutes.
At your budget you will have an enormous choice although not sure you can get beach side of the coast road.
Would suggest go for a apartment beach side La Cala if you dont mind a British enclave.
Or Fuengirola front line beach if you want a larger more cosmopolitan town.
I think you really need to come over and look around. You have large cosmopolitan towns, small Spanish towns, British enclaves, beach side, mountains, with commercial areas, without. It really depends on what you want.
I agree – stick with West of Malaga and concentrate on Malaga to Marbella.
Good luck, hope you find something you like.
Agree with GJ. La Cala is excellent for your purpose. You may get beachside. Try Windsor Properties they are on the main Street to the beach, nice people.

Thank you for your time.

Hi Tim.
First things first. If you have only been here once why would you be looking at a holiday home? Don’t get me wrong I love hte Costa del Sol and I’m an estate agent. But before even thinking about buying a property maybe you should visit the area a bit more.
You also need to decide what you want from the property.
Remember the if you don’t intend to use a car or don’t want to be forced to use a car the train line only goes from malaga to fuengirola. You will not have a problem finding a property at 200,000€ but is it the property you want?
If you can get La cala for your budget go for it – its small, desireable and they cannot increase the area BUT ensure you get La Cala beachside! Go as far as to Selwo,Estepona, come out and look yourself as you will know when you see it.
Put yourself in a holidaymakers shoes and then decide which type of holidaymaker to go for! If you work for a large business you can market to them, but do your marketing survey on those lines, see what the general want and buy accordingly,
Good luck!
