This topic has been a bit quite lately. We were informed, read, told that it will be built in Estepona near SELWO PARK.

On my recent visit I was told by a friend ( God forbid, not an agent ) that it will built near sotogrande with a new airport linked to serve it. This friend of mine has no interest in Soto Grande or propeties ?

He however keeps up date with all the gossips including the private life of the local wicker.

      Any comments ??????

It will not happen, its an estate agents myth repeated by people who have bought in the area or its origionated from an agent. There isn’t the infrastructure either rail, road or air. There are no plans for an airport in Sotogrande (lots of unsold properties though!!) and why would there be when its only a short drive from Gibraltar and Iberia start flights on the 16th.

      I think you’re wrong Katy,

i heard from a very reliable source (M.M.) that it would be built
      the attractions include:

an excellent ride called “pie in the sky”

a film studio where the main show is “the estate agent always rings 52 times”

an excellent lucky dip called “pick a lawer”

however, if you don’t enjoy it, don’t bother complaining cos “no-one cares” 8)

      Hi Katy,
I can understand where you are coming from. Its for this reason that I stated that the info came from a non commercial/property related persons.

As far as the rides are concerned the foreigners have allways been taken for a ride and most cases they were willing participants so disney need not provide any rides.

Wether it comes or not Gibralter airport is just to small and would not be able to handle the influx of flights etc.

i know we are just having a laugh, but that is still well out of order and offensive to those of us, who through no fault of our own face losing our only savings we ever had!……….. Willing participants? i don’t think so, just conned by the huge amount of liars and cheats that plaque some regions of spain.

With all the above and resulting bad press, i wouldn’t think Disney would touch the CDS with a bargepole!

      Goodstich,

It was a tongue and cheak remark & I know that you took it in that spirit.

Whilst I well aware of the suffering, stress etc that these people have caused can never be expressed in words.

You will note that I have been outraged in the past in the manner that some of the court cases that have turned out for various people.

I hope that you and others will soon put your worries back and enjoy a
Country which I love and the warmth and well comingness of its people.

phew………i’m glad it was ‘tongue in cheek’, there have a number of people on here saying it’s as good as our fault that we are in this mess.

Sadly our dream of owning a place in Spain has turned in to a nearly five year nightmare, and the best we can hope for now, is to get our money back with some compensation. It’s all very sad, we have loved the country and it’s real people, but now, the very mention of Spain fills me with sadness. We have trusted and been treated so badly by a few Spanish and English people. We will get over that, but realising that when you do get done down in Spain, justice is very hard to come by compared to England, and that has left us sickened by the whole legal system. Why the hell wont they come down harder and quicker on the ‘rotten egg’ developers/lawyers/agents, who are ruining Spains reputation as a worthwhile place to buy?…….money money money!

I cant speak for other people and no doubt where the fault lies and no matter how worldly wise one is if some one is hell bent on defrauding and is in the pocket of instituions ( what ever an institution means in each country) it is not possible to cover all aspects to protect one self.

In so far the spanish Goverment is concerend. I have posted on the forum it starts from there. It there attitude to fleece foreignors e.g Spanish pasying less capital gains tax than foreiginors,Spanish can write off expenses against their rental income foreignors cant, etc.

Ofcourse these things happens to Spaniards too but they know the system and they speak the limbo.

Spaniards are biting the hands that feeding them. The legal system is anold boys network.

i quite agree, and i think the English agents are just as bad for going along with it all. They know the score, and just blame their Spanish counterparts as soon as it all goes wrong. As you say though, it must start from the top, or the change from greed corruption and downright lies, will probably, (if at all) only be forced slowly by market conditions.

These various con-men, developers/lawyers/agents etc only survive because they are not punished for their bad deeds, and their victims not given justice often enough, even in black and white cases. If Spain cant put it’s house in order, then the euro brigade you step in, but when i wrote to my MEP, she as good as said, ”we cannot dictate the way each country runs it’s affairs”………. Great help there then!

Why would you go to the MP or MEP, surely they are there for their own gravey train. ( Cant you see that our own prime minister is happy to save holiday money and spong of people like Berlesconi and Cliff richard)

Why would you give them your time and in return give them the opportunity to treat you like some sub intelligent member of this plannet.

Besides, perhaps you dont realise that very soon Spain will have to start putting money into the Euro funds as uptil now they have been receipient of the European funds so there is no lien/ecomoic duress on Spain to act in anything which they dont wish to.

if enough people write to consumer progs’, mp’s, mep’s or anyone, who in theory at least, has the power to do something, then at least we have stated our position. I do feel that change can only be made if enough people kick up a fuss in the right direction. Just bitching about the con men on here, is good for getting it of your chest, put it’s the policy makers we should be targeting, and the Spanish one’s are not going to do much, if they think it’s not in their financial interest. I know it’s a long shot, but we have to start somewhere, and in my opinion, on mass.

disney will be opening something down there. BUT there are no plans for a euro disney. It will be some sort of disney park/kids centre, nothing more…

anyway that’s what i’ve been told.

Anyway would it not make more sense to place it nearer to malaga to take advantage of the highspeed train as well as the extended airport?
