what would happen if your partner dies

      what happens if one of the people on the mortgage dies…does their half die with them??

      On a joint mortgage there would most likely be a life insurance policy (also in joint names) that would pay off the mortgage in the event of death of one of the partners. This is usually a compulsory requirement on the part of the lender.
