I am 66 and hoping to buy a property in Spain. I have been told by a mortgage broker that the maximum term I can have for a mortgage is nine years, taking me to the age of 75, which seems fair enough and would be fine. I went to a Sabadell bank in Spain last week and was told this is not true and that I can’t get a mortgage at all becuase I am over 65. Does anyone know who is correct please?
Mortgage term are set by the mortgage provider so will vary but normally mortgages and loans are set to finish on 75 birthday but I do know of providers that will go to 80th birthday, Sabadell were always to 75th
