So the question is: if you had some cash to spare and the tenacity to negotiate hard, would you buy a nice property on the Costa Brava today?

If you can get hold of a place in the Tamariu/Llafranc/Begur area for use at weekends then I would be extremely jealous. It is my favourite part of the mainland Spanish mediterranean coastline. I personally think that area will hold its value much better than elsewhere in Spain, especially when they get the AVE connection running through to France and the rest of Europe. I would personally consider buying a plot of land in those areas (paying no more than say €100k for a hectare) and then spend say €200k on a villa with pool. But your circumstances may be completely different.

If you are looking around places like LLoret and Tossa then I’m not so sure, I don’t know those areas.

lloret is a better place now than it use to be without all the 18>30 crowd.i would consider buying in between llorett and tossa on the font de sant llorenc urb, i have a friend who has a place in the lower part to the right of the main road and it has nice see views and the beach at the bottom of the road is nice.As is the little mariner there
