      hi, i wonder if someone can help, i have a mortgage on a property in spain, how do i reach the figure on which my wealth and renta tax is paid. thank you mick.

      As far as I am aware, you reduce your outstading mortgage balance on 31st December of the year concern to come to your net worth. Assuming you dont have a other assetts.

      The “Spanish Property Knowledge Bank” on this website gives very useful information about taxes for residents and non-residents. I suspect you will find the information shared there very useful.

      I believe that the net value of your property for tax purposes is based on the cadastral value (usually less than the market value) less your o/s mortgage figure.
