Spain’s new Housing minister, Beatriz Corredor, has now come up with a plan to tackle the crisis facing the construction industry that she will present to Economy minister, Pedro Solbes, later this week.

I hope this Beatriz Corredor has a better plan than the Banks and Savings Banks Associations.
They called on the Government to use the Pensions Fund to help finance the real estate and construction crisis. 😯
Pedro Solbes dismissed this, saying a budgetary deficit would have to be assumed given the economic slowdown.

Solbes also said the real estate market “must correct itself” – that he is against doing anything to halt the “adjustment of the excesses” of the construction industry seen over recent years.
