My wife and I are UK citizens living in the UK. In 2013 we bought a flat in Barcelona registered in our joint names. Mindful of our inheritance tax planning, we are considering transferring ownership of the flat to our daughter. I would be interested to know what potential taxes, fees etc might be incurred. Our daughter is a UK citizen with Spanish residency. She has lived in the flat since we purchased it. My wife and I have made both UK and Spanish wills.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That’s a complicated one. Cross-border taxation, tax treaties, etc. You’ll have to consult a specialist tax lawyer. But I think you’ll find that the tax rate in Catalonia for this sort of thing is quite attractive.
