New data from the INE shows that Torrevieja, a popular resort town on the South Costa Blanca in Alicante province, has the lowest income per household in Spain. The average household income in Torrevieja was €13,977 in 2013, almost half the national average of €26,755.
Pozuelo de Alarcón in Madrid was the municipality with the highest income per family in Spain with €70,298, five times the level of Torrevieja.
