Has anyone out there had any dealings with TM Torreblanca? We were supposed to have completed today yet could not as a certificate of habitation was not available.
We chose a reputable builder, went for an apartment which was already built rather then off plan, chose an independent lawyer from this site, yet we have still been messed about.
We are in Spain next week and now rather than stay in our apartment will be forced to rent and spend more money whilst the builder sits on our deposit!
We are really angry as we have done everything to ensure a smooth transaction, yet we have still been left with a really stressful situation.
Easter is our last holiday until the end of August, therefore if we don’t complete by tomorrow, we might as well not complete until the end of August. Do the builders realise how they are affecting their clients lives?
There is something about the nature of builders everywhere that makes them incurably optimistic – or simply unrealistic – about when they will be able to finish a job. In my experience this applies equally in the UK and Spain – and probably Mongolia as well. Bless them all.
The crunch question is – did your contract have penalty clauses for late completion?
yes I did deal with this company and bought from them last year. I bought in orihuela costa. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having problems. I didn’t have any problems at all though where I bought was phase 7. Phase 1 people have been living there since 2001. Everything ran smoothly – the only criticism I have is that the snagging which was fairly minor is a bit slow but will get done – but the finished product according to a lot of people and in my opinion is very good. What area were you buying in? I hope it gets sorted for you shortly.
We are buying in the Murcia region on phase 3 and like yourself many people have already completed on our phase so we did not anticipate any problems. We had heard many good things about TM Torreblanca before we even considered purchasing from them so this has really upset us!
If you have to rent – I wouldn’t let this go with them I’d make them foot the bill. Have they given you any indication of how long this will take? I would kick up a bit of a storm about that. If you don’t shout loud enough you won’t be heard. But when you are in and I hope I’m right that you will be very happy. The person that keeps an eye to our place when we are not there looks after about 50 properties on the costa blanca and says that the TM developments are very well finished. I do hope you won’t be waiting too long – keep me informed.
Thanks Angela, that is really reassuring I will let you know what happens.
At the moment the whole excitement and pleasure of buying an apartment has gone. Maybe when i see it again next week I will feel differently.
Kind Regards,
Pam
