This year Spain may regain some of the tourists lost over the last few years. On TV it was stated that Tunisian tourism grew by 29% last year. Greece had the strikes and riots, Egypt the shark death. If they do let’s hope they don’t get drunk on their success again and ask overinflated prices.

See the article mentions the Paradors, we have stayed in a few and although many are beautiful ancient buildings the rooms are lacking in investment, uncomfortable beds, large old TV’s, no coffee makers, room service finishes at 10pm. etc. The world has changed people want a bit more luxury now.

Very true. It’s so frustrating. Spain could do so much better on many fronts. Talk about not fullfilling your potential.
