By chance I came across this recent rise in tax on Spanish property in a couple of regions of Spain and implications for sellers, with a comment from Mark, is this generally known? Spain seem intent on stifling it’s property market ๐Ÿ˜ฏ ๐Ÿ™„

This link doesn’t seem to work. Is it just me?

In answer to your question, probably not. You would be amazed how few people do their research, and how even fewer people know about this website ๐Ÿ™

The link is working for me, I agree with your comments on this about sellers may have to reduce 2% to cover the increased tax that buyers will have to pay. I doubt that many will in reality, not on top of overall reductions already, it is another hit for buyers though ๐Ÿ™„

well those 2 regions have sizable debts, and the transfer tax is set by regional governments…. Shame though, I would have hoped the catalans would have had more ‘savvy’.

Still 8% in Andalucia up to 400k though.!
