“With the Spanish economy continuing to impress, and countless locations fulfilling their investment potential, the Spanish property market remains one of the most exciting in Europe…… “unquote
House sales only make up a tiny fraction of a countries economy.
actually I think you will find they make up the greater proportion of CDS income – hence the huge levels of corruption which the JUNTA is just taking notice of!
Also the reason why as long as they only rip off tourists the Spanish Government has been happy to ignore all complaints over the years. The huge amount of money sloshing around in Taxes. I read that an Awful Estate agent regularly turned over ONE BILLION euros a year. dont need to be a brain surgeon to figure out the amount of dosh in the economy for Spain!!
You only have to read some of tales on here to see the huge spiders web of corruption between, Town Hall ,Mayor,Lawyers, Developers and the big Agents. Its got to stink when Mayor, Notaries, and Town Hall all have their hands in the Till.
One of the reasons that financial papers say that spain is heading for economic disaster is because its GDP is relying too heavily on construction. Can’t be bothered to trawl thro’ the links for you but surf around don’t listen to anyone involved in the property market. Those of us who live here have known for some time that the bottom has dropped out of property sales, there are houses around my area that have been on the market for over a year and its a beautiful area.
They may have turned over this amount once but I doubt it they are now. They have closed down many offices on the CDS and are heavily into Bulgaria and any other godfordsaken country they can get people to invest their money in because its cheap.
Katy, I think we are allowed to mention their name Awful Estates although they are known otherwise. We would not trust them again based on our experiences and others and I think it’s ok to say that here.
You are right about where they are operating now including Bulgaria (heavily), Turkey (heavily), S Africa, Thailand, Florida, Portugal ?, Spain (Boo), in fact anywhere they can convince investors that they have ‘hot’ investment potential, but would we trust their info again (No Way!)
The S. Times recently exposed their sales tactics in Turkey as being the same as those used in Spain, and Your Move has dropped them as their main overseas property partner (Great news).
Even their Spanish API no. doesn’t belong to them (fact) but to a lawyer, what are they like.
Steer Clear!
