How important is it for me to have a will in Spain dealing with my Spanish property? I’ve read many articles on this but there doesn’t seem to be much agreement on whether I need one or not.

      Hi

My understanding is that it is a good idea to have a Spanish will, but not essential, in that your UK will is acceptable. As always to save any hassle (you won’t be there so …) its good to have one.

I’m no lawyer so you best check it out with a Spanish one.

      Regards

      Paul

Should anything happen it could be years before your estate is sorted even if listed on a UK will.

In Spain they ask for your parents names (even if deceased) as well as the name , address and relationship..if any..of those who will inherit.
Average price is less than 200 euros so not extortionate price for piece of mind.
