Hi all,

I know that you cannot offset mortgage or other expenses relating to Spanish rental properties against rental income. So, as a non-resident, I’m stuck with paying 25% tax on that income. But I have seen comments on some websites which seem to indicate that it is possible to offset Spanish rental expenses (including Spanish mortgage payments?) against UK rental income on a UK tax return.

Can anyone confirm or deny that this is possible? If it can be done, presumably Spanish expenses can only be offset against UK rental income, not just any UK income?
