Mortgage borrowers in Spain pay an average interest rate of 2.81pc compared to a Eurozone average of 2.68pc, according to Eurostat data. So mortgages in Spain are 18pc more expensive on average.
However, mortgages in Spain are cheaper than Italy, Portugal, or Greece.
