Last summer Cristobel Montoro, minister for Hacienda had talked about Fiscal/tax amnesty.
a) What kind of amnesty, was it i.e. what aspects of tax was covered or not covered ?
b) What years i.e. how far back it could be applied ?
c) What was the period/date/window by the time one had to declare ones assets or ill gotten gains ?
d) What percentage of tax was payable if the tax payer came clean ?
e) any other ?

This is new to me. There was one for the one year 2011/12 with a 10% penalty I do remember. A more general amnesty might be good idea because it will discourage bad estate agents and those who work with them to cheat their clients as they know they are more likely to be found out in the future.

I am referring to the same amnesty. Wss there a deadline ? If yes, what was the date ?.

The deadline is past – it was something like end November 2012.
I think it covered all undeclared wealth that you could prove had a legitimate source. It was 10pc tax, but I’m told that turned out to be just on interest income, so the effective rate was much lower.
