      We are canceling our contract and have been told we will need to have a Spanish bank account to have the funds put into. Can anyone tell me the easy way of getting one without going out to Spain.

      Halifax are good and no transfer fees. We opened an account in the UK and in Spain purely for transfers. Well worth it. We have/had a great service from them.

      Another option is to give Power of Attorney to your representatives in Spain. You would have to sign this document before a Notary Public of your area and then forward it via registered mail. They will be able to open a bank account on your behalf in your preferred Spanish bank or Caja de Ahorros.

      Halifax have a branch in Mazarron Maureen. Your developer could just pop down the road and pay it in for you 😉
