I know that this is probably not the right forum to ask this, but I would be interested to know which areas has more Sun around Christmas, Costa Almeria, Murcia, Costa Tropical or Costa del Sol? Where are the highest temperatures?

      Thank you in advance.

Definitely Almeria and Murcia. But the cons of this is that almost of our landscape is a desert with the exception of some areas.

The variation is so small I would bear in mind other criteria. What is a degree or two if you are stuck in a dump. (I am not infering anywhere is but you know what I mean!)

Thank you for your answers. We (2 kids, 2 adults) want some Sun to do some hiking and also spend some lazy time on the terrace.

Murcia is also cheaper and for hiking it depends if you prefer mountain or the scarce virgin shoreline.

For mountain near Sierra Espuña is a good place, for virgin shore line Calabardina (near Aguilas, Murcia) is a beautiful small beach village.

Also worth mentioning that in Murcia out of the brits aimed resorts you can find reasonable prices for detached houses with a great terrace.

Cant beat cds Im afraid! Valencia will be starting to get frost on the windshields in the morning, toiday here its in the 20s blue sky and sunny! Also plenty of people around – yesterday on the paseo in Marbella, it was pretty packed. Mainly in t shirt and shorts and it was heavan having a cool cider overlooking the sea!

Back to reality today and work, but I had breakfast outside this morning!!! 8)

      Thank you again.

The rental in Murcia seems to be cheaper than the one in Almeria so we will probably go there. It is actually amazing to find a £170/week villa for Christmas time.
Is Torre Pacheco area a bad one?

Yesterday went for lazy waslk on Marbella paseo, sea was beautiful and I was wearing t shirt and loinen trousers and sandals. Seeing as I have lived here 13 years I am very acclimatized and normally in jeans sweaters (2) and thick coat!

We sat and had sunday lunch, it was around 22 degrees, not a breath of wind. Was lovely and looks the same today

Oh and people swimming in the sea!

      December!!!!!

How cold? The information on weather websites is very contradictory.

Some sites claim the lowest in Malaga is 13 C and others 7 Celsius…

I would have said nearer to 13 degrees – I find it cold but then Im a dinosaur and very used to the weather here – my favorite months are july and august when most hate it!

2 years ago I found the winter here so cold the family went to the caribbean over xmas and new year – brilliant deals from Madrid to Punta cana!

I have known it be as low as 7 here but not often. málaga City is a bit cooler at night than marbella. 4.35pm now and it is 20 on the terrace (shade) so it is warm. If I remember I will have a look tonight before I go to bed. Spanish houses are always cool even with the heating on!

Well, it was 18C on the terrace at 11.10pm. There was a warm breeze so maybe warmer than usual. Certainly didn’t feel like 18 to me, suppose the thermometer doesn’t lie!
