They were the agents/developers for a development in Calahonda called Las Palmeras. A friend of mine has a 2 bedroom apartment there with a rental guarantee for two years. Another friend went to see the development, which is nearly finished, but not fully occupied, and was interested in a penthouse apartment, which it seems was available at a very reduced price.
On checking the internet, there is no longer a website for Rushcliffe. Have they gone bust? Any info gratefully received.
thet built Ocean Pines – benahavis (connected to awful estates) – took five years to build – now in a state of dereliction; also started benahavis hills behind village – “luxury” houses etc – only one house built – they had an office in village and a fleet of black 4X4’s but seem to change name of company often –
your friend who bought in las palmeras should know more – coincidence you have another friend interested in buying up there as well!!

Yes, friend A went to do the snagging list and took friend B with her as she knew they were interested in buying a penthouse. Friend B and husband were shown the showhouse penthouse and another one, but not given any paperwork. They were told they could buy a 3 bedroom penthouse for just over 500,000 euros, reduced from about 800,000.
When they got home they were quite excited and tried to find more information on the net, but as I said Rushcliffe International no longer have a website marketing these flats.
They said the development looks very nice, gardens, pools etc. lots of sea views.
They have seen the comments on Eye on Spain.
I said I would try to find out if Rushcliffe were having financial problems, hence the post on this forum.

I don’t think there is an apartment in the whole of Calahonda worth that much 😯 Infact most of the developments there I wouldn’t pay 800,000 for the full block!

I’ve heard they were out of business but apparently reappear under a new SL (limited co) name from time to time – so who knows !! proceed with caution. Katy is right; €500,000 is a huge amount for Calahonda no matter how great the units !! There are “bargains” to be had in that area/ Riviera but around €200,000 for a top floor flat !! If they (your friends) have €500,000 to blow get them to come down to the Marbella area between Elviria and San Pedro – the investment will be safer !! Go straight to developments or deal with agents with offices/ a local presence and reputation!! no bar stool estate agents/ haidressers/ porters etc

i think theyr’re selling 2 bedroom there at 250/280.000€? sold one there 3 month ago resale at 166.500€. So the developer prices are not that great….

Thanks for your replies. I must admit the penthouse sounded great, huge lounge, three bedrooms, on two levels, large roof terrace with hot tub, etc. etc. but as you say that sort of price at the moment is perhaps too much.

Recently had someone looking into buying in one of Rushcliffes developers. It looks like a few of their developments are having problems due to unsold units/non-payment of community fees.
At this moment in time several owners are currently paying 500€ per month in community fees. I know that this is the case for Las Palmeras de Calahonda.
