My parents have just arrived back from a holiday in spain having put a deposit down on a villa! They are elderly and I am a little worried about whether they have made a mistake. It is on an small urbanisation in Roldan and they have bought it through a company called Phoenix repossessions. Does anyone have any insight ?

Hi,
it depends on what they have signed, the property and the location.
This company seems another agressive seller, and if your parent didn’t go looking for a property and they were convinced to do it by the agent I’d be very careful about the contract.
My suggestion is to look for independent legal advise, give him the document and information and purchase the property through a Spanish Lawyer.

thank you….I shall look into it. My parents were out to look at properties rather than just on holiday but I was shocked they came back after 4 days saying they had found somewhere. We spoke to them about some of the pitfalls of buying abroad and to do lots of homework before agreeing to anything but it seems that it has fallen on deaf ears! I just wanted to see if the area has any problems and if the urbanisation is a good one. Its on Calle G in Roldan. Are there any sites I could look at to check the area?

Hi,
I know no sites to check it, perhaps in the Forum somebody knows about it. I guess it is in a “Polaris urbanization”?

Im not sure….Polaris World is nearby though. I suppose no news is good news- if nobody is moaning about the area profusely then it cant be too bad!?

How old are your parents? Do you know what price they are paying?
