Risk of buyer occupying a property prior to signing the escritura

    In the UK it is advised not to let buyers stay in a property before the sale is completed because of the risks of taking posession and/or insurance issues if damage occures. Is that the same view in Spain?

    YES!!! And more so. It takes longer and costs more to evict people from a property in Spain, or do anything in court. If you wouldn’t advise it in the UK, don’t go near it here.

    You cannot say YES or No. It depends on the circumstances, the agreements made and the guarantees given.
