I bought a totally refurbished house 5 years ago in Aldalucia, but due to family sickness, exploding vocanoes etc. have not been back to visit it. I’ve been paying a property manager all that time.l He also sometimes rented out the place, but we were always been asked for money for property inspections, pool maintenance etc. etc. I finally got back this year and the place was a wreck, when I complained to the property manager, he said he was “tearing-up” my maintenance contract. I took him at his word. He’s now claiming a further 6 months of property management fees and 2 months of pool maintenance fees that have been incurred since the locks were changed !!!. I am ignoring his demands. However at some point I would like to go back, as he lives in the same village this is rather intimidating. Is there any board, chamber of commerce, rural tourism etc. that might be interested in this issue ?

The person is English and I have to say my direct experience of working re-fixing up the property, is that the spanish sub-contractors were a fraction of the price and much more reliable than the “Brits”

Do not ignore this man. Go talk to a lawyer. If he has been charging for arranging these services, he should be able to back up with invoices, etc….

If you just ignore it, and he starts legal proceeding to get the outstanding funds because the contract is still in force, you may be forced to pay.

YOU need to go after HIM!

Does he have a NIF no. Most of these so called property managers are not legally registered. Find out and threaten him. If the place was a wreck when his company was maintaining it, sue him for damages.
