Dear John, As a seller you will have to pay plusvalía to the town hall and the buyer has to retain the 3% of the selling Price to be paid to the tax authorities in Spain so you will receive 97% of the selling Price. If you are not making any gain, you will be able to apply for a refund to the Spanish tax autorities of this 3% after deducting all the non resident property imputed income tax of the last 4 years you have been owning the property.
