Hi All
Anybody got any experience regarding transferring money to Spain and with whom? I hear Money corp might ok. anyone got first hand experience using them?
All advice most welcome and thanks. 8)

Have a look too at HIFX – they seem to be the favourite for many.

I opened a spanish halifax account through my local branch.
You don’t pay anything for transferring money from u.k. to your spanish account. Have just set it up so don’t know how efficient they are.

As with earlier post I used HIFX and found them to be very good.

I have used halifax,just be careful that the sending Co have an agreement with them as if you send more than 12,500€ you will be charged a percentage under 12,500€ free,I think its something like 0.5% whether or not you have accounts in spain and uk,look under halifax transparency.

I have also used moneycorp and found them excellent (rates good)obviously the more you send the better the deal.I have also read that HIFX give the best rates of all so could make a big difference on a large amount

We’ve just transfered large sum of money from Spain Hlfx to UK Hlfx a/c. It should be there by tomorrow 😕 . Supposedly no charges 😕 I’ll let you know.

I have recommended Moneycorp to several clients and they performed very well. I was impressed by Moneycorp’s promise to pay any Spanish bank charges incurred and then take matters up with the Spanish bank.

Just found out that our money has arrived safely…no charges and £1,100 more than we thought, so good exchange rate. 🙂

My husband reckons it is a safer bet with a bank than a money broker. How many banks go bust ?
