We are currently interested in purchasing a property and on receiving the sale deposit document the owners are noted as a off shore company. The estate agent has provided a power of attorney document signed by the notary in the off shore country giving this to one person. Can anyone advise anything else we should be asking for or checking prior to purchase. How does it stand for companies to have utility bills etc. Should they have a agent in Spain noted for these purposes do they have any holding, in terms of legal ownership ?
My advice: Get a lawyer to support you with this transaction. Should cost you maximum 800euros – contact at least 8, then they will probably say 1,500euros (at least), then negotiate it down.
