I think we’ve all underestimated JakeSuper! – This is his site, right?
Problem with a site like that (or Kyero) that come from the English-speaking world, is a lot of properties on the market won’t be listed.
If looking for poor (and dirt-poor) places you get a lot more to peruse by using Idealista. For instance, if looking for dirt poor properties in Murcia, select the area (and choose max 60k) but then select order by the cheapest first (baratos primero):
I believe there are some cheap properties for sale in the town of Cuevas del Almanzora in Almeria for around 20,000 euros.
I just found on the rightmove property website a 3 bedroom village house for sale in Seron, Almeria, Andalusia for the bargain price of just £16,621 (€21,000), take a look below:
These two properties are in fact worthless rubbish that you couldn’t even give away for nothing. Whatever you do don’t buy rubbish in Spain just because it is cheap. A property is cheap for a reason, because it is total garbage.
There will be an increased sense of urgency and realism from home sellers when Spain approaches the point of no return and reaches the day when it finally drops out of the Euro and adopts the Peseta which will cause all Hell to break loose.
There are currently an estimated 1.5 million homes up for sale and this figure will easily double to 3 million homes for sale as home owners in Spain see that the game is up and that the writing is on the wall for Spain as the country heads for the much anticipated exit from the Euro and adopts the Peseta which will result in an overnight devaluation of the Peseta of at least 50% and cause property in Spain to be valued in worthless Pesetas. Can you imagine for just one instant what an additional 1.5 million properties entering the property market in addition to the 1.5 million properties already up for sale will do to house prices? – it will cause house prices to go through the floor.
Don’t touch Spanish property even with a ten foot barge pole. All Spanish property is toxic, regardless of its location or how well built it is. Only consider buying a property in Spain once Spain crashes out of the Euro and adopts the Peseta, only then will things become clearer and property prices will return to sensible levels.
I know that people are impatient and want to get on with their lives but buying spanish property now will end up being the biggest mistake of your life, act in haste and you will repent at leisure. I can assure you that in three to four years time Spain will exit the Euro and this will result in absolute carnage in the property market as home owners in Spain panic and stampede for the exit and put their properties up for sale, resulting in a blood on the streets crash.
The description below seems to differ from the photo:
“This very attractive cottage which is built over 2 storeys and which requires reform can be found in a very pretty village just 10 kms from Iznájar and the Lake of Andalucía. It is one of three that has the same owner. Presently needing a bathroom and kitchen and has some beautiful features in the built-in Andalucian cupboard, tiled floors and exposed wood and cane ceilings.”
I think i did angie i recall one had a lovely pool with a big palm in the picture i was given of it,It was just outside cocenatina just up from alcoy. It was down a farm track .The turning in to the property was so tight that you had to do a 3 point turn to get in or drive pass then reverse in.
The actual structure was so poor i wouldn’t even have felt safe keeping animals in it and it only had about 3ft to the side of it before a 20ft drop to fields below which i am sure is where it will end up.
In London you are paying for the Land where the House is built roof or no roof.
Oh yes, that’s the point. Location is the prime determiner of “value”. It doesn’t necessarily follow that a low price property is unsound (although it can obviously be the case).
A few handily placed explosive devices and off comes the roof, now it looks just right for the new upper storey to go on and enhancing the value greatly, good old Will Self a funny, but clearly a crafty bugger 😆
