Hi, I’m a property writer writing a feature on people living on fixed incomes in Spain (pensions, income from savings etc) who are finding the going tough and thinking about moving back to the UK. Looking for peole who have sold and who are trying to sell. Would be very grateful if anyone knows anyone in this situation who would be happy for a quick chat with me. The feature is for a British sunday so will be a good way of advertising a property for sale. If you send an email with your contact details I’ll phone you to save your bill. Thanks very much.

Parasitic and unscrupulous. Sensational and lazy journalism – attempting to shift newspapers on the back of others’ misfortune/hardship. The fouth estate has not improved in the UK I see. Nice carrot with the exposure angle on the unsold property – you really are lower than whale sheet. Why don’t you just rent a property, take a few photos of some aged colleague eating stale Weetabix, make up some quotes and run the story as you want it to come out. Human interest? I despair, I really do.

      And your point is?

Thanks for the advice! Yes I’m hoping to have some human interest (no weetabix pix necessary) but also promote the fact that Spain has property bargains on offer which may help the many vendors who seem to want to sell at the moment. Just spoke to Age Concern Spain who tell me that yes especially older vendors are struggling to get by on Uk pensions yet find it hard to get help out there and from the government back home. I hope that’s a story worth telling.

Tatiana: So what do you think the Government back home will do . Only use it for some more political spin.

A recent example of the £2K for a banger. Why would I get a car insured & MOT for only to be crushed. IF I have a banger that has a MOT, I will run it to ground and not spend extra £000’s to get a £2k ( £1k from Dealer & £1k from the Government )

Sorry, went off the topic on the on political spin.
