Hi, Our Spanish lawyers have drafted a power of attorney for us to sign, to allow them to complete the formalities in buying a property in Spain.
It does seem to give them very broad powers over our affairs. Is this a usual procedure when the purchaser is abroad, and does anyone have any cautionary advice?
Thanks.

It is ok. to do it but don’t leave it wide open for any actions. Insist on adding a clause something like “for any transaction regarding the purchase of xxxx property”

also collect the original from your lawyer once you have completed 🙂

And put a time limit on it.
