      Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering what people thought of the idea of swapping houses if you can´t sell as I have come across a new website offering to advertise your property for free: http://www.internationalpropertyswap.com

I have swapped houses for holidays and am doing so this year and came across this as I was thinking of setting up some sort of gite swapping system/site..where you can swap unbooked weeks in your holiday rental accommodation with another owner for your own use, which is what we are doing but with friends!

Any thoughts..if you were selling and couldn´t would you think of swapping permanently? Not sure is my answer, but I have no wish to move anyway!

I always thought it was a good idea. There are thousands in Northern Europe wanting to live the dream and thousands in Spain wishing to escape the nightmare. However, the chances of two sets of families both wanting each others property or live in that particular area would be slim though some in Spain would be prepared to go almost anywhere to get out if they’re in a completely stuck situation.

I wonder what the tax situation is if no money changed hands?
