      Hi All,
just bought an Orange mobile phone in Spain and found a brilliant card( 5 euros and you get about 3 hours talk time to UK landlines)

What i want to know is, what are the usage rules for this network?

how often do i have to use/ top it up to keep my credit and my mobile number?

i have heard that with some its use every 3 months or loose your credit and 6 months you loose yor number
      others its 6 and 12.
      any info would be appreciated.

It seems ‘par for the course’ these days. I enquired about a ‘deal’ with Midas the other day, and similarly, they will recind the service / number unless the thing is topped up within a certain time period (whether it has been used up or not!).

The service was allegedly via Vodafone, which is strange since I have a ‘Prepago’ contract with Vodafone at present, and they certainly haven’t operated this policy in the past.

That being said, I have just received an SMS stating that if I don’t register the mobile with one of their shops within the next month or so – I will lose the number!

This policy is certainly the one they operate in France!

Incidentally, Orange in Spain used to be Amena, and they also didn’t ‘shut down your account’ when not used or topped up regularly.

I don’t know about Orange but my vodofone is top-up min €5 within a 9 month period, if not you lose your connection with a 3 month grace period to top-up afterwards giving 12 months in all.

What’s €5 for something that could save your life… or your wife 😉
