Our apartment is situated in the Moorish part of Palma de Gandia – which is surrounded by orange groves that stretch down to the sea. 4.5km from Gandia city and over 17km of blue flag beaches to choose from,

In the area of la Safor which is directly on the N332 or you can choose the toll road AP7 Mediterranean Coast road – we are approximately 1hr from Valencia and Alicante airports.

Our home is in the historic area in a small street of 5 other properties and with all probability built on Moorish footings. It is a traditional Valencian townhouse where tranquil passageways and paths lead to small squares. The property inside is modern using the traditional Valencian format and very spacious having an L shaped open plan living area which presently we use as an office/summer sitting area (with landline) formal dining area and winter snug (with fireplace and reverse air conditioning). Most windows are double glazed. 2 double bedrooms with large wardrobes and fully tiled bathroom. The kitchen/breakfast room has modern fitted units and opens onto a rear private and tranquil sunny garden with flowers, shrubs and small trees. A fully tiled storage room is very useful in the winter for storing summer furniture, although it is used for other things!!!

The plot is 155 m2 and all amenities are within 5 minutes walk (baker, butcher, chemist etc) and parking is at the door

There is so much to do here – visiting surrounding beaches, walking old Moorish trails and mountain sides, discovering old houses in the campo, finding castles (there are 27 in la Safor alone) watching terrapins and frogs in the Moorish water systems, visiting the towns surrounding la Safor, Medieval markets and many more things to do. A lot of towns here celebrate the Moors & Christians fiestas and of course Spain is theplace for fiestas. We find we have now to keep a diary to remember whats going on and where.
