      i went to the spanish Consulate. in july and processed the documents to get my nie number them 2 days later i got a copy of the forn with my photo stapled and some writing in spanish on the back. is this the correct document or can some one tell me what the form or card looks like or is this the one.

      Hi Innis,

      That form is just a proof that you have applied. The document with your NIE number will be sent to you in several weeks time – often takes around 6 weeks when applying from abroad.

      You can’t miss it. It will have your N.I.E. number in a box in the middle of the page.

      thanks mark will it come straight to my house or will i have to collect it from the spanish consulate.

      They should send it to the correspondence address you gave on the application form. However I once spoke to the ladies in Madrid who process these applications. They don’t speak any English and find it difficult to interpret UK addresses unless they are very clearly printed. So when asking for an NIE to be sent to the UK, always make sure your address is VERY clearly printed.
