What’s the opinion on the investment actually being raised and even then on this enterprise coming to fruition. In the end will the land remain unaltered or will there be yet another graveyard of half built property and roads that go nowhere? Think a lot of money has been spent already to get this far so doubt its a sham but is it reality and will it create genuine investment opportunities? What’s there for the smaller investor?

first , Paramount theme parks, never built parks, but purchased existing ones.
second, the company has not existed for years.
third, the parks that had the paramount name were sold years ago.

This project was first talked about a few years ago and cited by some at the time as proof that the downturn seen on the costas was only a temporary blip.

Many people, myself included, were sceptical then. It seems with justification. I very much doubt this will ever fly. In the current climate, and that for many years to come, they simply won’t get the investment they are looking for.

i cannot see it happening untill we see some stability in the worlds economy and a return of growth in the euro zone, whats the point in building somewhere for people to go and enjoy themselves with their surplus money when there is no surplus to spend

Paramount are giving only the license to use their name and theme the rides on that part of the park. It’s going to be in a really good position too- links to close major Towns without too much trouble and including a new high speed link back to Madrid. In the main the Spanish holiday in Spain not abroad so there’s a great market there straight away- even Valencia is only 3 hours away. Alicante has seen major investment in the airport and Corvera is on target to open in Spring 2012 for the European trade- but flights have to be reasonable and if this UK Oct half term is anything to go by families wont think they are. Prices on ‘no frills’ airlines varying from £45.99+ to ££90+ outbound and £120.00+ inbound per person this isnt the way to generate family trade.

But just getting all (think they probably do have some already) of the initial investment is going to be a long haul and they have to do it within the year or it all goes back to negotiation.

Maybe- pity is that they waste a lot of money on it so far.

Whilst there’s potential for some big money spinning venture, anyone who’s been out there and seen the area would probably think it’ll be a big pity to cover it all in concrete!

Would really like it to be a reality but sad to make such a part of ‘real Spain’ so commercial.

Read the local tourist board has given 10.000 😆

A report here about another failed project which got off the ground. An Arts centre in Aviles that cost 44 million. Closed after opening only a few months ago. Scroll down the page for other white elephants.
