We are retiring to Spain and are looking in the Costa Brava region near Calonge. Can anyone tell me what the winter there is like?

Temperatures from Nov-Mar are usually in the 50s-60s F, and there can be a fair amount of rain. But it comes as blissful relief after months of dry, hot summers.

Thanks for that. Does the area stay open during the winter or is it very dead? Much appreciated.

It very much depends where you buy. Places like Pals are dead out of season and Begur is very quiet, but Sant Feliu de Guixlos is lively all year.
