[Chester is an old roman settlement on the cheshire/shropshire border and close to Wales. Fantastic area to work and loads of places of interest close by.
Im sure our weather will be a bit of a novelty to start with. Will give a real insight to the british way of life.
This is the difference between spanish companies and the european ones. If talent is provided not matter is you are spaniard, french or whatever. I have heard the difficultty of expats getting a job here in Spain just for not speaking spanish.
For this reason between others I think spain is less prepared to cope with the actual economic crisis.
A spanish friend has received a offer to work near Chester in this company so I ask your british opinion about this city in the UK and this company.
It seems that UK companies are hiring young prepared spaniards so I dont know how will cope spanish companies in order to attract talent.
Thank you
This company is one of my suppliers and is very well thought of in its field and I certainly find them very good. They distribute to about 2/3 of the UK.
Is it a job at Boughey in Wardle? Huge distribution site with many warehouses, both old and new. They also manufacture animal feeds. The company I work for has many machines on the site that are always being trashed by the workforce. There is a high proportion of Eastern Europeans there working on the “Princes” side of the operation.
Not sure what sort of a company they are to work for, but they use a lot of agency personnel and most of it is unloading lorries or stacking product on pallets.
Location wise, it is in the middle of nowhere! Chester is probably about 10- 15 miles away, with Crewe not much further.
Chester is a lovely city. There are Roman walls surrounding the city to walk around. There is also a cathedral. The shopping is excellent, and lots of good restaurants. It is on the River Dee, with boat trips. There is also a racecourse on the outskirts of the city.
