I have currently been dealing with Currencies Direct for the purchase of my Spanish property. All is now complete but I now need make small monthly mortgage repayments to Bancaja. Does anyone know the best way for me to make these payments from the UK or which currency companies deal with such payments? (Please note I have not had a problem with Currencies Direct, but they only deal with larger transactions).

Hello Costablanca – I’ve had dealings in the past with ‘Moneycorp’ (020-7808 0500) and found them helpful. It might be worth giving them a call ❓

Thanks for passing these companies on to me I do believe that they are reputable companies. Is this the most economical way for me to pay my monthly mortgage or can anyone suggest any other ideas? e.g. paying a few months in one go or could I open two new bank accounts – one in the UK and one in Spain which are compatible (free transfers) and then transfer the euros by direct debit into the Bank with my mortgage(Bancaja)

      Hi Costablanca,

I would check again with currencies direct about a small regular service beacuse I know they do do it. I have been dealing with them for clients for many years and their latest leaflet does mention a “regular transfer service with the same great rates as your main transfers”. I do remember that before they charged about £2 for the service but this is probably different now.

      Best wishes

      Bernard

I e-mailed my broker at Currencis Direct today who replied saying that they Do do regular transfers.
Give them a bell and ask them.
