I was handed a copy of page 3 of today’s Telegraph – the content makes for seriously gloomy reading.
The content reads that a large number of people up and down the local property chain in Marbella are corrupt, councillors, developers, etc etc. People who have owned their own properties for, lets say, 3-years, may lose their bricks and mortar to the bulldozers! False planning permissions have left lots of owners in the dark as whether there property will be next.
It really does go to show that nobody can be trusted, and as astute as each of us may be in purchasing in Spain, if people agreeing consents are corrupt, how will you ever know until after the event!
I apologise if I have duplicated a thread.
things must be quiet, if DT only just running this story.
Unfortunately its not just Marbella that has this problem, though other places, the corruption, though just as bads, may no be on quite such a grand financial scale. In Albox (Almeria) many local Spanish started calling themselves the Marbella of Almeria, due to the problems in that area with illegal builds.
I think you will find DarrenP that if you look through posts from earlier in the year you will see info on this story – it is surprising that this story is running now – perhaps now that Becks has retired there is no-one to keep the limelight and they have to run with real stories – who knows.
