Does anyone know the current status of the hotel ‘al-kazar’ in Los Alcazares, Murcia?
Last time I visited it looked as though work had stopped, and I was told it was affected by the recent arrest of Juan Antonio Roca, as was the ‘nueva ribera’ development, and at least one of the new golf courses.
Whenever I search for info. all I’m coming up with is agents offering to sell properties at nueva ribera, and in the case of the drive-alive website offering to book my hotel stay, although they only had the artists’s impression in place of a photo!
I already have a holiday appartment in the town, so not in the market for either of the above!
But I would like to hear from anyone with information about what’s happening because it’ll clearly affect the development of the town.
Whilst I’m at it, any intermediate tennis players in and around LA fancy a match up in early sept? 🙂
thanks for the speedy replies. I followed the links through the google translation software, and I learned much about the ostentatious lifestyle of Mr Roca, but details about impact on Los Alcazares developments are still very thin on the ground. I’m out there in a few weeks so I’ll see first hand, and speak to the few locals I know, about the situation.
Have you guys been affected by his impropriatories? From the little I’ve gleaned, it could take a long time to unravel and sort the situation out. Hopefully the local authorities will be able to step in somehow and prevent a 90% complete hotel decaying in the centre of town for the next decade!
AFAIK, One Properties, the developer of Nueva Ribera and the hotel in the centre of Los Alcazares, has been given an administrator by the court and will soon be able to resume building. As you mentioned, Roca is allegedly a director of the parent company of One Properties, and what effect this will have on the company, and therefore the developments, in the longer term will be interesting.
I noted whilst on holiday in the area recently that One Properties is not the only developer in the area which has been hitting the headlines. Backhanders are a common way of doing business it would seem.
