The Law Society is holding a conference in London on 2 & 3 April for English & Spanish Bar Leaders & Lawyers. The seminars will be “focusing on the most frequently encountered problems between England and Spain”.
I’ve written to the various presidents & heads of departments involved, informing them of the multitude of complaints in our Petition, & our expectations that these will be addressed in their conference, obviously being very pertinent. Let’s see if they respond. I’m not holding my breath, but thought it was worth a shot.
Good to hear from you on this forum, I have been following your progress on the Problems Forum, I hope the petition has the effect that it deserves, you and others have worked so hard on it.
When they meet on the 2&3 April what else do they have to talk about?.will there be a transcript or briefing from this conference, it might make intresting reading!
Well, I think Steve may be spot on, but at least those involved in heading this conference will also see that the letter has been copied to all MEPs who have signed our petition, including the Vice-President of the European Parliament.
Amazing how many lawyers have asked me for a copy of petition, in particular the Lawyer Complaints Document, offering to “help” with this. Must think I came down in the last shower 😡
They know the problems very well & don’t need this confidential information if they really want to make changes.
Apparently the BSBA (?) organise the event. Our lawyer has reservations to attend but unfortunately cannot go as he has two big trials over those dates. A pity as I thought we could get insider info! Looking at the agenda though, there does not appear to be a great deal of time allotted to discussion! 😉 More eating and sightseeing!
