Hi jp1
I would be very wary of these ‘little’ places in the countryside, sitting amongst the trees. In the past, some were just built without any planning permission (often began life as an animal shed, progressing to breeze blocks covered in pebbledash). A friend of mine got ‘burned’ over a property not unsimilar to this one.
As you probably well know the mantra is always have your lawyer thoroughly check everything out, especially if you’re considering anything like this.
Think someone is possibly chancing his arm here with this one price-wise.
What is 1.5 bedrooms? Half the bed out the window? 😕
I know someone who bought something similar (although not at that outrageous price). When they put a project together the architect said it would be better/cheaper to demolish and start from scratch. They also found that following the footprint of the building the best they could get (legally) was 2 bedrooms.
Once, you pass all the hurdles that have already been mentioned. The person who sells you the place will visit your place and clear you of your white goods, furniture etc.
The Spanish market and the mentality of a lot of owners/sellers in the cold light of 2011 is quite amazing.
I can really recommend randomly hitting some old post for a good laugh!
Oh!!
And just to re-iterate this isn’t a thinly disguised attempt to sell my property… trust me 😆
Vey funny indeed. What a bargain considering how much it has gone down in price 😀 . Just love doing things like this. It’s always great when oneself gets feedback that one was not wrong on certain things.
