      I would be grateful for any advice or contacts re buildings amd contents insurance for a flat in Barcelona.

      Frankly, I would not bother with it. Insurance companies in Spain do not believe in paying out and there is the issue of excess. Besides motor Insurance. Insurance industry is based on fear & what if.

      If, the what if is not of real value and you have used & abused it over a number of years. Just take view on it. I do not know what contents you have in your property e.g. modern furniture made in China of course can be replaced & than you must have heard of Ikea.

      Congratulations! We bought in Barcelona last year and as we got a mortgage with Sabadell, were ‘forced’ to use their insurer. I think after 1 year we can swap, so let us know what you find. Thanks.
