Tourist numbers improve in Alicante

In May, the local airport recorded a 12.5 per cent increase in passenger traffic – the largest growth figure across the entire Spanish airport network. Throughout the month, 930,000 filed through Alicante’s airport facility, up from 826,248 in May.

Looks like the numbers of Spanish visitors from Madrid will increase too

The new AVE link has opened, and there is already strong demand, with occupancy levels already at 85%. Renfe have put on 6,300 seats daily compared with 4,800 previously for the old slower service
