Katy, by all means add as many as you like. However ” bring a lot of money ” is a comman requirement in all countries. When Spain was cheap i.e. Pesetas day’s it did not matter that much as one could take a view. This view cannot be taken anymore.

Ashton: If your comments re spelling are directed to me. I am not offended. My spell check does not work for some unknown reason. besides mind worling faster than the key board skills.

      Hello

I have some questions regarding your advice.

      e) Do not have a lawyer. Then who will take care of your assets while away?
      f) Do not take up residency. You mean you don’t want to be a resident? Why not?
      h) Do not take a Taxi. If you don’t buy a car, what other transportation do you have besides car rental?
      i) Do not buy a car . Why not , if you live in Spain 6 month out of the year?
      j) Do not involve any tradesman. Who does repairs then?

I am not questioning your advice, I am merely trying to understand the idea behind it and what are the alternatives.

      Thanks Sh.

Hi Ashton Devi. My posting was tongue & cheek. What I was trying to say was if you live a very basic life you will not have problems and less people you get involved with ( not friends ) the happy you will be. Sorry if you missed it. Here my responce on a serious note.

Do not have a lawyer. Then who will take care of your assets while away?

I HAVE NEVER USED A LAWYER. FOR THE SIMPLE REASON THEY ARE NOT CAPABLE OR PROFESSIONAL AND IN MOST CASES ARE AN OBSTRUCTION. IF YOU ARE TRUSTING YOUR LAWYER TO LOOK AFTER YOUR INTREST/ASSET. I THINK YOU SHOULD WISE UP PRETTY QUICKLY & HOPE THAT YOU DONT FIND OUT THE HARD WAY.

      f) Do not take up residency. You mean you don’t want to be a resident? Why not?

A SIMPLE & NOMADIC LIFE DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY RESIDENCY. THE SYSTEM IS SO SCREWED UP. THAT IT FORCES ONE TO LIVE IN THE SUGGUESTED MANNER.

      h) Do not take a Taxi. If you don’t buy a car, what other transportation do you have besides car rental?

AS ABOVE YOU DONT NEED TO GET INVOLVED WITH THEM AS YOU WILL BE OVER CHARGED. THE PAYMENT STRUCTURE HELPS THE TAXI DRIVER IN DOING SO. HAVE TO LISTEN TO NON STOP FLAMENCO OR FLAMENCO ROCK & WILL BECOME A PASSIVE SMOKER. THERE ARE BUSESS & UNLIKE NORTH AMERICA YOU DONT NEED A CAR FOR EVERYTHING. LIFE CARRIED ON BEFORE THE MOTOR CAR.

      i) Do not buy a car . Why not , if you live in Spain 6 month out of the year?

AS ABOVE, HIGH TAXES, NON AVAILIBITY OF ITV TEST SPACES WHEN YOU MAY NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO MAKE AN APPOITMENT, CAR WILL SURELY BE STOLEN OR DAMAGED BY VANDALS OR CARELESS DRIVERS. MOST FOOTPATHS ARE OF DIFFERENT HEIGHTS IN DIFFERENT CITIES/TOWNS IN SPAIN. YOU WILL BE HITTING YOUR DOORS, BUMPERS OR THE FRONT/BACK OF THE CAR.
      j) Do not involve any tradesman. Who does repairs then?

DO IT YOURSELF & WHERE YOU CANNOT. ASK A NEIGHBOUR & WITH YOUR SKILLS RETURN THE FAVOUR.

nb: I am not shouting at you. its in block for ease.

Thanks Shak, It makes sense. Thanks for your reply.

However, as far as buying a car. I will most likely buy a damaged car . I know I can find one , the last 8 times I drove a rental car in Costa del Sol, I have returned all of them with damages (Not by me) So there should be one I can purchase whith dents from Hertz.
      😆 😆 😆

Apology for calling you Ashtondavi. Ahhhhhhhh, you thought your problems will be solved by buying a second hand car. Please speak to a gestor to find the system to buy or sell a car.

I would agree with Shakeel’s post, especially the nomadic life style which works well in Europe. The difficulty comes when you need healthcare in other countries. A worldwide private contract is effective but the costs very expensive.
