Dont know if anybody can help but in the U.K. if you see a piece of land you can write to land registry to find the owners name and address, is the same possible here in Spain ? if not can anybody tell me any other way.
This site allows you to search all property registers in Spain, and for a small fee, find out who owns the property. It looked like it cost 9 euros a go. I haven’t used this myself but remembered someone else posting the link a while ago!
However, I’m not sure how up to date this will be..we brought our house over 4 months ago and haven’t had our deeds back yet from the notary after registration.
I think you may want to check the catastral plans too and I have no idea where to find those..maybe the local ayuntamiento? Cesar would be the one to ask!!
With an address or IBI reference number you can do things like see the cadastral plans of a property. However you can’t find out who the present owner is – you have to get that information from the property register.
Thanks Mark, this is very useful to me as stated in the nota simple the previous owner of our house was meant to update the catastral registar, but it still shows us owning half the village!
Now I can keep an eye on this online – far easier than going to the catastral office in Oviedo!
