Thank you all for your kind welcome, especially shakeel’s who posted on a previous topic (kindness at least on the 1st day of the new year) such hypocrisy. I’m not sure why you judge new members before they even get started. No I am not an estate agent and no I will not be a jake, but I have watched this forum for some while before jumping in and I will undoubtedly upset some of those who say everything is rosy in Spain when it surely isn’t, I will not be recommending agents, lawyers nor developers either. No itsme, I would not recommend buying in Spain now for people from the UK unless it was necessary for some reason or lifestyle but I fear it would still result in financial loss. 😕

Angie you seem to have Schizophrenia 😕 😕 😕

Angie, is this some type of surveillance activity? What’s the point of using multiple names on this blog?

Gary I’m afraid my O.M. Mike has decided he wants some action, he’s never been on a forum before, the trouble is he doesn’t always know if he’s coming or going but expect he will in time, has access to my accounts too so will have to change passwords now 😆 😆 😆

I didn’t think you were doing surveillance. 😀

But for a moment I thought about being introduced to you for the first time: “My name is Bond. Angie Bond.”

Gary you will get to like him in time, honest Guv, he was getting a bit angry and protective of me and a few others with some of the stick we were getting, the trouble is he has sent emails to friends on my email occasionally which was even more confusing and I told him to get his own email. 🙄 😆 I will withdraw his pocket money for a week 😆

@gary, the people on the forum knows what Caveat …. means the ones who did not know are nursing their wounds, well the majority of them.

One can be aware but cannot be fully aware irrespective of the country.

wow there is some real bitches on this forum and they don’t seem to be female,i think this forum has taken a turn for the worst since the bubble burst with those who got burnt trying to warn others and those who benifit from people getting burned getting abit miffed that they can’t have a free ride off of there backs anymore.
I don’t like the way its going so for that reason i am off,i will check in from time to time to try and get a feel for the situation but leave my spanish property information to come from family and friends who live there.
Good luck to those who live there trying to earn a living and to those who live there in retirement enjoy you’ve earnt it.

Sorry to hear you are off dartboy, you make very sensible posts so don’t go away too long if at all. However you’v identified the very reason so many really good posters have left over the years, it’s a fact that some were either hounded out or went because of the ‘rose coloured specs brigade’ and suspect who is behind it! 🙄

“i think this forum has taken a turn for the worst since the bubble burst “

I & others have raised the issue some times ago and as a result the main objective of the forum has been lost & you get what we are getting due to a lack of direction.

sorry to see you go. Although I have to admit that I didn’t find anything on this particular thread offensive (maybe I’ve been desensitised). To be honest I’ve always found this forum a bit aggressive – but I think that’s partly due to there being very few posters. It’s a bit of a catch 22: you need people to keep posting to keep the forum going, but if it’s the same few people posting then they tend to dominate.

The other problem is that the debate has shifted from “where or what shall we buy” to “when shall we buy”. So instead of discussing the niceties of living in a particular area, we’re now trying to predict a market in the middle of an economic crisis, which ain’t so easy. Unfortunately people are getting burned, but I’m afraid that will always be the case: those without property got burned when the market boomed, and now those with property are getting burned while the market crashes.

      Agree.
It is noticeable though that when a thread gets derailed into personal attacks it’s always the same 2 or 3 posters who start the diversion from the topic and initiate the personal abuse.

I propose Mark introduces monthly bans for posters who start the abusive stuff. tbh it may be a welcome break for many of us who need to break the addiction to this place.

Don’t even think about buying a property in Spain for investment purposes because it is only going to go down in value and you will lose alot of money. There won’t be another boom in Spanish property prices for at least twenty years, not until Spain has left the Euro and unemployment has reached 80%.
